By Keith Antigiovanni

There is one month to go in the regular season and most of the pennant races are still competitive.

The defending American League champion Texas Rangers (76-59) are currently 3.5 games over the Anaheim Angels in the AL West after taking 2 of 3 in Arlington this past weekend.

The KC Royals are 17.5 games back in the AL Central but only trail the Minnesota Twins by a half game from fourth place.

The Rays are currently 9 games behind Boston in the AL East.

The surprising Arizona Diamondbacks are 5 games up in the NL West while the disappointing Rockies are 12 games back, along with the Dodgers and the Padres are 16 games out.

St louis (70-64) is 10.5 games back in the NL Central. The Houston Astros are 36 games back but continue to play hard as they try to win games.

The Atlanta Braves are second place in the NL East at 6.5 games but lead the Wild Card race by 9 games. The Marlins are 26.5 games back.
